The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Teodosio Gonzales had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 13 minutes, Carmelo Gauargi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Loma Negra de Punilla's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carmelo Gauargi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Loma Negra de Punilla's goalkeeper Cristo Iigo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Segundo Orixe's late challenge caught a Miñones's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Segundo Orixe helped the player get up and apologised. Segundo Orixe hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Cristo Iigo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodolfo Eutor in the 25th minute of the match. Lázaro Raphael fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Calvet having to interfere. Lázaro Raphael received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Joel Calvet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Miñones's zone, Lázaro Raphael stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joel Calvet came out of the goal and Lázaro Raphael tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Carolo Matthew hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Mario Lain blasted a shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cristo Iigo having to make a save. After some careless play in the Loma Negra de Punilla defense, Teodosio Gonzales kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cristo Iigo. The Loma Negra de Punilla fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cristo Iigo should have stopped the shot. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lázaro Raphael made a kick off. Carolo Matthew had several of the Miñones's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 53 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-1 score and a disappointed Joel Calvet as he didn't even see the shot coming. After 57 played minutes, Miñones's Octavio Natal shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cristo Iigo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Miñones reached it. Teodosio Gonzales received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Cristo Iigo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 60th minute Mario Lain shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristo Iigo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mario Lain in the 61st minute of play forced Loma Negra de Punilla's goalkeeper Cristo Iigo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 67th minute, Lázaro Raphael made a precise shot to the right of Joel Calvet. Miñones's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. If Lázaro Raphael had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 72 minutes into the match, Carmelo Gauargi dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Joel Calvet, 1-3. 75 minutes into the game, Carmelo Gauargi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Joel Calvet was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Reynaldo Urre hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Mario Lain kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. If Mario Lain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 93rd minute Teodosio Gonzales shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristo Iigo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristo Iigo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mario Lain, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. When the final whistle sounded Loma Negra de Punilla left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Miñones.
