The crowd rose to their feet as Verón FC's Narciso Lidon slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Victor Marcones. That made the score 0-3 after 72 minutes of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Efrain Vachon got free with Victor Marcones in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Nicanor Pere managed to get in a good position for a shot. Álvarez's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicanor Pere was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Isidro Galoer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
