But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Virgilio Lapurdi couldn't finish the play. Artemio Abar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Astor Cilio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcos Ellande made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Virgilio Lapurdi sent off a good shot on target. Dario Derwin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Marcos Ellande tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Faustino Gonsalvo hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dario Derwin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dario Derwin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcos Ellande having to interfere. Virgilio Lapurdi succeeded in the game's 55th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. After some careless play in the Deportivo marcos paz defense, Virgilio Lapurdi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcos Ellande. Dario Derwin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo marcos paz's zone, Virgilio Lapurdi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcos Ellande came out of the goal and Virgilio Lapurdi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Franklin AFC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
