In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Laguna's goalkeeper Lisandro Sanchez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Laguna's Humberto Calisto slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gaudencio Dei. That made the score 5-0 after 42 minutes of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Freddy Aimar made a kick off. Lisandro Sanchez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Freddy Aimar in the 52nd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Humberto Calisto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gaudencio Dei was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. Julian Cristos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Gaudencio Dei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 60th minute, Julian Cristos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gaudencio Dei was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-0. A collision led to Club Atletico Rivadavia getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Bruno Bonifaco hit a great ball. Gaudencio Dei showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Humberto Calisto in the 71st minute of the match. Gaudencio Dei made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Cristos in the 73rd minute of play. The supporters of Laguna booed when Club Atletico Rivadavia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enzo Marino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gaudencio Dei stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Julian Cristos's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Cristos in the 96th minute of play forced Club Atletico Rivadavia's goalkeeper Gaudencio Dei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
