Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Hipolito Alonso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laureano Montae having to interfere. Benicio Boniel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Cecilio Maura tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Modesto Senon came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the lascruces FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Modesto Senon couldn't finish the play. Hipolito Alonso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laureano Montae having to interfere. Vértiz FC's Cecilio Maura played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benicio Boniel in the 27th minute of play. With a little luck, Vértiz FC's Cecilio Maura got control of the ball when Modesto Senon tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 35th minute, Vértiz FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Modesto Senon fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 37 minutes into the game, Leo Saturnin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vértiz FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave lascruces FC the free kick. The supporters of lascruces FC booed when Vértiz FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leo Saturnin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Laureano Montae showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mario Aresti in the 39th minute of the match. Mario Aresti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 43 minutes, Leo Saturnin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vértiz FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leo Saturnin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mario Aresti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laureano Montae having to interfere. If Modesto Senon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Vértiz FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Cecilio Maura took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benicio Boniel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cecilio Maura made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Modesto Senon in the 55th minute of play. Modesto Senon blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cecilio Maura having to make a save. Benicio Boniel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cecilio Maura having to interfere. 71 minutes into the match, Modesto Senon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cecilio Maura. Vértiz FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Modesto Senon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Cecilio Maura made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benicio Boniel in the 79th minute of play. In the 82nd minute, Vértiz FC's Mario Aresti dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. The supporters of Vértiz FC booed when lascruces FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Modesto Senon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Modesto Senon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Cecilio Maura tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mario Aresti in the 94th minute of play forced lascruces FC's goalkeeper Laureano Montae to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Vértiz FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
