Honorato Louis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donato Nerio having to interfere. Donato Nerio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jimeno Francesco's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Darwin AFC's goalkeeper Donato Nerio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Florencio Estebano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Donato Nerio made a huge save. If Candido Laurin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Donato Nerio acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 25th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Alejandro Domiku. In the 26th minute, Jimeno Francesco left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Banfieldster united fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Donato Nerio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jimeno Francesco, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. 35 minutes in the game, Honorato Louis fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Donato Nerio having to interfere. Benjamin Valery kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Donato Nerio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Candido Laurin in the 39th minute of play. A hard shot by Gerardo Marquez from long distance, 41 minutes into the match, got Donato Nerio's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 42nd minute, Honorato Louis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Candido Laurin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Banfieldster united's Geronimo Urdaspal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aldo Merexildo in the 47th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Honorato Louis to make the kick off. Geronimo Urdaspal made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Benjamin Valery sent off a good shot on target. Candido Laurin might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Donato Nerio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Candido Laurin ran back to his position shaking his head. Donato Nerio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jimeno Francesco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Candido Laurin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 68 minutes into the match, Honorato Louis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Donato Nerio. Darwin AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Honorato Louis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. In the 71st minute, Honorato Louis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 72 minutes into the game, Banfieldster united's Florencio Estebano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Donato Nerio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. After having played for 75 minutes, Honorato Louis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Banfieldster united's supporters crossed their fingers, but Honorato Louis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 79 minutes into the game, Godofredo Isaio recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Geronimo Urdaspal. Godofredo Isaio showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-1. Jimeno Francesco struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Donato Nerio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Banfieldster united. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Honorato Louis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Banfieldster united's supporters rose to their feet, but Honorato Louis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Donato Nerio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 88th minute, Cosme Marino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 91 minutes, Everardo Bermudez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Darwin AFC and the Banfieldster united players grew even worse after the yellow card. Donato Nerio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Honorato Louis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Everardo Bermudez was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 95 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, Darwin AFC's Everardo Bermudez got a free kick in the 95th minute. There was no doubt that Banfieldster united were the better team. Banfieldster united's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
