Donato Duarte succeeded in the game's 9th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. Esteve Pero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lino Leguizamón in the 16th minute of play. In the 20th match minute, Represita was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Angelo Guzman to maneuver through the defense. Lino Leguizamón fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Esteve Pero having to interfere. After having played for 25 minutes, Honorato Otsoa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ascensión FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Honorato Otsoa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 31 minutes of play Represita's Angelo Guzman was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Angelo Guzman hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Donato Duarte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Esteve Pero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lino Leguizamón might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Esteve Pero. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lino Leguizamón ran back to his position shaking his head. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Honorato Otsoa to strike the kick off in the second half. Represita's Ladislao Leocadio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Represita from getting a goal against them. When Honorato Otsoa came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Ascensión FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Honorato Otsoa couldn't finish the play. Donato Duarte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lino Leguizamón struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Esteve Pero didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Represita. If Donato Duarte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ladislao Leocadio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arturo Millano in the 79th minute. Donato Duarte scored 3-1 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Esteve Pero, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Donato Duarte's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Esteve Pero was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. 89 minutes into the game, Cristobal Vitin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ascensión FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Represita the free kick. A collision led to Ascensión FC getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Cristobal Vitin hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Represita's Maximo Roldanillo tried to score from far away in the 90th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Donato Duarte in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Esteve Pero saved Ascensión FC from getting behind.
