La esquina's Placido Rafel got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Soto's zone, Carmelo Urki stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Igor Arnalt came out of the goal and Carmelo Urki tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Placido Rafel who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 7thth minute tested the skills of Igor Arnalt when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Placido Rafel struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Igor Arnalt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for La esquina. Carmelo Urki fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Igor Arnalt having to interfere. Soto's Igor Arnalt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carmelo Urki in the 12th minute of play. A hard shot 14 in the game by Placido Rafel from a close distance when the talented Igor Arnalt managed to make a qualified save. Soto's players were relieved. In the 20th minute, Carmelo Urki got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Placido Rafel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Igor Arnalt having to interfere. Igor Arnalt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Placido Rafel in the 23rd minute. Marcelino Bibiano's late challenge caught a La esquina's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marcelino Bibiano helped the player get up and apologised. Marcelino Bibiano kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Raimundo Honrio took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 30th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Natalio Matxin. La esquina's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Carmelo Urki's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Igor Arnalt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. Placido Rafel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Igor Arnalt having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 37th minute by Placido Rafel got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After a defensive mix-up in Soto's zone, Carmelo Urki stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Igor Arnalt came out of the goal and Carmelo Urki tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 43 minutes, Carmelo Urki took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Igor Arnalt to make any attempt to save it. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

A collision led to Soto getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Delmiro Sasoin hit a great ball. La esquina's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Lisandro Galo in the 57th minute. Carmelo Urki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Soto's Benigno Jakes got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Placido Rafel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carmelo Urki in the 66th minute of play forced Soto's goalkeeper Igor Arnalt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 68 minutes, Carmelo Urki managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. La esquina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carmelo Urki was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Placido Rafel in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Igor Arnalt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Carmelo Urki fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Igor Arnalt having to interfere. In the 82nd minute Carmelo Urki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Igor Arnalt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Igor Arnalt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Placido Rafel in the 84th minute of the match. In the 87th minute of the match Raimundo Honrio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Natalio Matxin skillfully saved the ball. Igor Arnalt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Placido Rafel in the 89th minute of play. Soto's Igor Arnalt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Placido Rafel in the 91st minute of play. When Carmelo Urki came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the La esquina fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carmelo Urki couldn't finish the play. There was no doubt that La esquina were the better team. La esquina's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
