Spectators: 6682 (Terracing: 5001, Seating: 1681, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Geronimo Galtero took the kick off in the first half of the match. Banfield's Gaudencio Tabby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fausto Victoro in the 3rd minute of play. In the 4th minute, Bally FC's Geronimo Galtero dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. When Geronimo Galtero came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Bally FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geronimo Galtero couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Banfield booed when Bally FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Saul Dunixi didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 23rd minute Jacinto Orlin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonel Iago saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Geronimo Galtero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gaudencio Tabby having to interfere. 27 minutes into the game, Geronimo Galtero lined in a short shot 2-0 behind a frustrated Gaudencio Tabby. In the 31st minute Jacinto Orlin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonel Iago saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Banfield booed when Bally FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aquiles Tristan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Virgilio Oroitz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonel Iago having to interfere. 35 minutes into the match, Bally FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jacinto Orlin came free, but Leonel Iago reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Banfield's Cristian Burni got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jacinto Orlin in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leonel Iago prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jacinto Orlin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Bally FC's zone, Jacinto Orlin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leonel Iago came out of the goal and Jacinto Orlin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 57th match minute, Bally FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mateo Quintin to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Bally FC's zone, Virgilio Oroitz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leonel Iago came out of the goal and Virgilio Oroitz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Banfield's Jacinto Orlin got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Uriel Rico hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Jaime Ederono managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bally FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jaime Ederono was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gaudencio Tabby breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cristian Burni hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Jaime Ederono took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 73rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gaudencio Tabby. Banfield's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Banfield's Jacinto Orlin in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Bally FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 79th minute, one of Banfield:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Banfield. Banfield:s Gaudencio Tabby showed great skill when he stopped Jaime Ederono:s penalty. In the 80th minute Jaime Ederono shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gaudencio Tabby saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Virgilio Oroitz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonel Iago having to interfere. Geronimo Galtero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 92 minutes, Cristian Burni mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Banfield and the Bally FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 96th minute Bally FC were awarded a corner. Jaime Ederono went to the cornerflag to take it. Banfield's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
