Aureliano Liher got his second yellow card in the match during the 20th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Morales FC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Aureliano Liher hit a great ball. 22 minutes into the match, Morales FC's goalkeeper Siro Ramond had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adolfo Silbestre. 28 minutes into the match, Morales FC's goal looked a bit too open when Amado Corderro came free, but Siro Ramond reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rafael Rivero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 34th minute Haroldo Canor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Siro Ramond saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Rafael Rivero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnulfo Tabb made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafael Rivero in the 40th minute of play. In the 47th match minute, Unión was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paolo Lopes to maneuver through the defense. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Haroldo Canor to make the kick off.
