When Fernando Ortle came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Quilmes Athletic club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fernando Ortle couldn't finish the play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Felipe Benet made the kick off in the second half. Fernando Ortle's late challenge caught a SC Corinthians Santa Fe's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fernando Ortle helped the player get up and apologised. Fernando Ortle kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. After 54 played minutes, SC Corinthians Santa Fe's Bartolo Basualdo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tadeo Gaxan came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SC Corinthians Santa Fe reached it. After having played for 64 minutes, Gregorio Perrando managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Quilmes Athletic club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gregorio Perrando was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. SC Corinthians Santa Fe's Moises Lauaxeta proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save SC Corinthians Santa Fe from getting a goal against them. If Gregorio Perrando had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd match minute, SC Corinthians Santa Fe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armando Nofre to maneuver through the defense. Moises Lauaxeta made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gregorio Perrando in the 74th minute. If Felipe Benet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gregorio Perrando could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Moises Lauaxeta made a huge save. Gerardo Hustaz might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tadeo Gaxan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gerardo Hustaz ran back to his position shaking his head. Felipe Benet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tadeo Gaxan having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Quilmes Athletic club players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for SC Corinthians Santa Fe.
