ATICA FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Samuel Precioso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rosendo Goren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Samuel Precioso kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. If Ceferino Xabel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 22nd match minute, ATICA FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Urbano Matthew to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, ATICA FC's Bernabe Argina got control of the ball when Mariano Bittor tried to sneak it across the goal line. Racing Club's Godfredo Seguinus was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Bernabe Argina in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After 25 played minutes ATICA FC got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Etxepare. Mariano Bittor could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Bernabe Argina made a huge save. 28 minutes into the match, Rogelio Ihazintu notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Racing Club's Rosendo Goren. Rosendo Goren was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ceferino Xabel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernabe Argina having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Bittor got free with Bernabe Argina in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Esteban Jerardo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bernabe Argina read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in ATICA FC's zone, Orlando Osasun stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernabe Argina came out of the goal and Orlando Osasun tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carlos Leoiar to strike the kick off in the second half. Ceferino Xabel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Leoiar in the 70th minute of play forced Racing Club's goalkeeper Rosendo Goren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 72nd minute of the match ATICA FC got a corner. Racing Club's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Samuel Precioso ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 75th minute Carlos Leoiar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rosendo Goren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bernabe Argina took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Orlando Osasun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ceferino Xabel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 82 minutes into the match, ATICA FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Bittor came free, but Bernabe Argina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rogelio Ihazintu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Rosendo Goren made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Mariano Bittor's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bernabe Argina was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
