The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Manuel Ofelio scored 0-1 in the 2nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Damaso Javiar, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Salado's zone, Severo Gines stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reynaldo Mogel came out of the goal and Severo Gines tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Teodosio Gaizkine fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Piamonte's protests and gave Teodosio Gaizkine a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Piamonte's Teodosio Gaizkine got a free kick in the 10th minute. In the 11th minute, Manuel Ofelio made a precise shot to the right of Damaso Javiar. Piamonte's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Reynaldo Mogel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sixto Valente's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. Manuel Ofelio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Honorato Mundo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damaso Javiar having to interfere. Piamonte's Damaso Javiar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Ofelio in the 22nd minute of play. 28 minutes into the game, Cleto Chago cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Damaso Javiar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 31st minute Manuel Ofelio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Damaso Javiar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 33 minutes into the match, Salado's Honorato Mundo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Damaso Javiar narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sixto Valente scored 1-3 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Reynaldo Mogel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 87th play minute Honorato Mundo came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Damaso Javiar. 1-4. Manuel Ofelio might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Damaso Javiar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Manuel Ofelio ran back to his position shaking his head. 92 minutes into the match, Salado's goal looked a bit too open when Sixto Valente came free, but Reynaldo Mogel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Salado players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
