After a defensive mix-up in El Fortin's zone, Gabriel Nevada stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emanuel Llorian came out of the goal and Gabriel Nevada tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gabriel Pacho during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, El Fortin's Gabriel Pacho got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Vladimiro Chuse received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Roberto Meder took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Emanuel Llorian. Emanuel Llorian dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1.
