After a rather tough play, A. S. Livorno's Tiburcio Reynardo got a free kick in the 15th minute. Gogo Precioso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edelmiro Garci in the 16th minute of play. Livorno's supporters rose to their feet, but Eduardo Eyague was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carolo Millano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Edelmiro Garci had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gogo Precioso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Carolo Min was the one to do the kick off. Carolo Min's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carolo Millano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. After a rather tough play, A. S. Livorno's Eduardo Eyague got a free kick in the 55th minute. Jaime Berriotxoa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edelmiro Garci recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 64 played minutes A. S. Livorno got a freekick which was hit by Tiburcio Reynardo. 67 minutes into the match, A. S. Livorno's goalkeeper Gogo Precioso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edelmiro Garci. In the 69th minute, River Plate's Edelmiro Garci ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Gogo Precioso. Gogo Precioso yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-1. In the 73rd minute, Edelmiro Garci ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gogo Precioso was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. If Edelmiro Garci had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Edelmiro Garcis short, quick shot in the 82ndth minute got Gogo Precioso to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Tiburcio Reynardo hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Gogo Precioso was out of position in the 85 minute of play, and Edelmiro Garci capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Edelmiro Garci really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. Edelmiro Garci could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Gogo Precioso made a huge save. The A. S. Livorno fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. River Plate were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
