Venancio Ereinotz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Benvido in the 5th minute of play. After 10 played minutes El fenix FC got a freekick which was hit by Constantino Ramond. Venancio Ereinotz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Benvido in the 14th minute of the match. Saturnino Opilano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Venancio Ereinotz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chovet's Siro Oidor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Primitivo Lizar in the 22nd minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, Simon James notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Chovet's Siro Oidor. Siro Oidor was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 32 minutes, Simon James managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. El fenix FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Simon James was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 39 minutes into the match, Chovet's goal looked a bit too open when Primitivo Lizar came free, but Siro Oidor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Chovet's Siro Oidor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Primitivo Lizar in the 40th minute of play. Venancio Ereinotz was a little too slow when Paulo Benvido got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 45th minute. The score was now 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Paulo Benvido to strike the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the El fenix FC defense, Paulo Benvido kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Venancio Ereinotz. The El fenix FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Venancio Ereinotz should have stopped the shot. In the 55thth minute of the game Primitivo Lizar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chovet's Siro Oidor was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 61st minute Saturnino Opilano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Venancio Ereinotz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Saturnino Opilano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Venancio Ereinotz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. In the 71st match minute, El fenix FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Constantino Ramond to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Saturnino Opilano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Venancio Ereinotz was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. Herminio Henric charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Herminio Henric the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 93 played minutes Chovet got a freekick which was hit by Herminio Henric. The supporters of Chovet booed when El fenix FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Simon Lano didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 97 played minutes, Chovet's Cornelio Lauro shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Venancio Ereinotz came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Chovet reached it. El fenix FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
