Spectators: 7227 (Terracing: 5422, Seating: 1662, VIP seats: 143) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Bernabe Ourente kicked off to start the match. 6 minutes into the game, Estudiantes de Olavarría's Bernabe Ourente nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Angel Porfirio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After some careless play in the Esquina defense, Bernabe Ourente kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Angel Porfirio. The Esquina fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Angel Porfirio should have stopped the shot. In the 13th minute, Bernabe Ourente made a precise shot to the right of Angel Porfirio. Esquina's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Esquina's goalkeeper Angel Porfirio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Esquina booed when Estudiantes de Olavarría was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victorio Arce didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th minute Matias Espiridion shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Everardo Foro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 22nd minute Bernabe Ourente shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angel Porfirio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alfonso Gonsalve fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angel Porfirio having to interfere. Matias Espiridion hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. When Victorio Arce was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 30 minutes had been played. A collision led to Estudiantes de Olavarría getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Victorio Arce hit a great ball. When Guaberto Breogan came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Estudiantes de Olavarría fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Guaberto Breogan couldn't finish the play. If Alfonso Gonsalve had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Angel Porfirio came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Estudiantes de Olavarría's Bernabe Ourente. But to his dismay, Bernabe Ourente quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. 45 minutes into the match, Alfonso Gonsalve notched a goal, 1-5, to the right of Esquina's Angel Porfirio. Angel Porfirio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Disappointed in the 1-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Matias Espiridion made a kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Guaberto Breogan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Estudiantes de Olavarría's supporters crossed their fingers, but Guaberto Breogan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Esquina's zone, Bernabe Ourente stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Angel Porfirio came out of the goal and Bernabe Ourente tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Esquina's goalkeeper Angel Porfirio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Bernabe Ourente sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 60th minute, Alfonso Gonsalve got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Raimundo Gagriel during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Raimundo Gagriel kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Alfonso Gonsalve blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Angel Porfirio having to make a save. Alfonso Gonsalve could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Angel Porfirio made a huge save. Bernabe Ourente took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Angel Porfirio. Angel Porfirio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-6. Angel Porfirio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Constantino Gutierrez in the 73rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Alfonso Gonsalve managed to get in a good position for a shot. Estudiantes de Olavarría's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfonso Gonsalve was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Angel Porfirio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Andres Segio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bernabe Ourente might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Angel Porfirio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bernabe Ourente ran back to his position shaking his head. Estudiantes de Olavarría played a much better game than Esquina and deserved their victory. The Esquina players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
