When Ramon Ramirez came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Angostaco AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ramon Ramirez couldn't finish the play. Nunez Seguinus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramon Ramirez in the 19th minute of play forced Leones FC's goalkeeper Luciano Steven to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jaime Santikurtz's late challenge caught a Leones FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jaime Santikurtz helped the player get up and apologised. After 23 minutes, Cayetano Florian mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Leones FC and the Angostaco AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Leones FC getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Cayetano Florian hit a great ball. Angostaco AFC's Nunez Seguinus got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With an all-out effort, Leones FC's Gerardo Gilabert threw himself towards the right post 33 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Wilfredo Soin, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Luciano Steven made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nunez Seguinus in the 36th minute of play. A collision led to Leones FC getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Rolando Eduino hit a great ball. Angostaco AFC's Gerardo Gilabert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilfredo Soin in the 44th minute of play. Bernardino Peli's late challenge caught a Leones FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bernardino Peli helped the player get up and apologised. 48 minutes had been played when some careless play by Angostaco AFC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Melquiades Arce was slow to take the kick. During this time Leones FC's players had a chance to rest. At last the ball reached Wilfredo Soin at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Angostaco AFC. 1-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Wilfredo Soin made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Leones FC's zone, Nunez Seguinus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luciano Steven came out of the goal and Nunez Seguinus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 58th minute, Leones FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ramon Ramirez fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Nunez Seguinus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Luciano Steven tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Bernardino Peli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 74 minutes into the game, Romeo Ticho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Leones FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Angostaco AFC the free kick. In the 75th match minute, Leones FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romeo Ticho to maneuver through the defense. Ramon Ramirez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Benjamin Nesor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Angostaco AFC's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Leones FC had won, even though Angostaco AFC had held more of the ball.
