Spectators: 7269 (Terracing: 5453, Seating: 1672, VIP seats: 144) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gerardo Confesor started the match with the kick off. If Israel Vincente had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 5 played minutes Athens FC got a freekick which was hit by Natalio Gustau. After having played for 8 minutes, Israel Vincente managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Monte FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Israel Vincente was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match had gone on for 11 minutes, Gerardo Confesor took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Mateo Quilino to make any attempt to save it. Baltasar Ritchie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Israel Vincente blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mateo Quilino having to make a save. 24 minutes into the game, one of Athens FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Mateo Quilino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerardo Confesor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Elpidio Walme during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Elpidio Walme hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Mateo Quilino made an important save on a dangerous shot by Israel Vincente in the 43rd minute. In the 45th minute, Godfredo Kemen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Baltasar Ritchie to strike the kick off in the second half. Israel Vincente received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Mateo Quilino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mateo Quilino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Israel Vincente in the 56th minute of play. Emanuel Heli recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerardo Confesor in the 60th minute of play forced Athens FC's goalkeeper Mateo Quilino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Natalio Gustau during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gerardo Confesor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jairo Estevez hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Athens FC's goalkeeper Mateo Quilino, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mateo Quilino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerardo Confesor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 80 minutes into the match, Athens FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gerardo Confesor came free, but Mateo Quilino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gerardo Confesor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 90 minutes into the match, Israel Vincente had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mateo Quilino. Athens FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Israel Vincente was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. In the 96th minute, Gerardo Confesor got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Monte FC fully deserved thier win.
