The audience thought a goal was coming when Rogelio Bento got free with Cristo Iigo in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Angel Donostia kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Cristo Iigo. That made the score 1-0 in the 20 minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, UnionTate's goal looked a bit too open when Angel Donostia came free, but Cristo Iigo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Rogelio Bento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Los Sucios Drogadictos's Angel Donostia in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Angel Donostia was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 41st minute. Los Sucios Drogadictos's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Angel Donostia in the 43rd minute of play forced UnionTate's goalkeeper Cristo Iigo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Victorio Casomiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antonio Firme in the 45th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ulises Hug in the 48th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Victorio Casomiro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
