Spectators: 7204 (Terracing: 5405, Seating: 1656, VIP seats: 143) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Nunez Seguinus started the match with the kick off. When Bernardino Peli fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Angostaco AFC's protests and gave Bernardino Peli a yellow card for diving instead. In the 6th minute, Rodolfo Veto sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Angostaco AFC's Gerardo Gilabert didn't even have to move. Mateo Quilino made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Ramon Ramirez sent off a good shot on target. Nunez Seguinus might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mateo Quilino. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nunez Seguinus ran back to his position shaking his head. Faustino Cresitobalo charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Faustino Cresitobalo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When Angostaco AFC's Nunez Seguinus in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Athens FC's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 24 minutes, Faustino Cresitobalo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Athens FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Faustino Cresitobalo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Faustino Cresitobalo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baltasar Ritchie in the 29th minute of play forced Angostaco AFC's goalkeeper Gerardo Gilabert to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Faustino Cresitobalo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Gerardo Gilabert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 33 minutes into the match, Athens FC's goalkeeper Mateo Quilino had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ramon Ramirez. In the 33rd minute, Angostaco AFC's Ramon Ramirez ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Mateo Quilino. Mateo Quilino yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Faustino Cresitobalo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 46 played minutes Athens FC got a freekick which was hit by Juan Mendebal. After recieving a nice pass, Angostaco AFC's Andres Honesto tried to score from far away in the 47th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Faustino Cresitobalo made a kick off. Mateo Quilino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nunez Seguinus in the 56th minute of play. Gerardo Gilabert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Faustino Cresitobalo, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. If Baltasar Ritchie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 71 minutes into the match, Athens FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nunez Seguinus came free, but Mateo Quilino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 75 minutes into the match, Faustino Cresitobalo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Gerardo Gilabert, 1-1. 78 minutes into the game, Nunez Seguinus cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Mateo Quilino was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Athens FC's zone, Nunez Seguinus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mateo Quilino came out of the goal and Nunez Seguinus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mateo Quilino stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nunez Seguinus's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. 86 minutes into the match, Angostaco AFC's Ramon Ramirez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mateo Quilino narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 88th minute, Nunez Seguinus ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mateo Quilino was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Athens FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
