Leones FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Baltasar Ritchie was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 12 minutes into the match, Athens FC's Faustino Cresitobalo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luciano Steven narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 15th minute, Melquiades Arce hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 17 minutes into the match, Faustino Cresitobalo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luciano Steven. The Leones FC fans' excitement grew in the 20th match minute when Leones FC's Wilfredo Soin looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Athens FC's Faustino Cresitobalo got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Baltasar Ritchie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Luciano Steven tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Elpidio Walme kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Mateo Quilino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilfredo Soin in the 36th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Faustino Cresitobalo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The attack was good, but when Benjamin Nesor in the 53rd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. 55 minutes in the game, Faustino Cresitobalo fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Luciano Steven having to interfere. Luciano Steven showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Faustino Cresitobalo in the 57th minute of the match. 58 minutes into the game, Maximino Kimetz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Leones FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Athens FC the free kick. In the 58th minute, Maximino Kimetz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Faustino Cresitobalo in the 60th minute of play forced Leones FC's goalkeeper Luciano Steven to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Baltasar Ritchie got free with Luciano Steven in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Faustino Cresitobalo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Athens FC booed when Leones FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joaquin Cordarrel didn't get a good kick on the ball. 69 minutes into the match, Athens FC's Rodolfo Veto broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. If Wilfredo Soin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rolando Eduino hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Luciano Steven made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Faustino Cresitobalo in the 88th minute of play. If Baltasar Ritchie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Faustino Cresitobalo came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Athens FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Faustino Cresitobalo couldn't finish the play.
