Benjamin Giro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gavino Janpier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 47th minute of the game, Justo Louis landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. When Emanuel Heli fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Monte FC's protests and gave Emanuel Heli a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Desamparados booed when Monte FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emanuel Heli didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Gavino Janpier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 49th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The wind increased when Gavino Janpier made the kick off in the second half. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gerardo Confesor couldn't finish the play. In the 98th minute, Israel Vincente got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Monte FC were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Desamparados to leave the ground with a draw.
