Spectators: 6653 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1653, VIP seats: 0) Independiente's Braulio Gudesteo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Braulio Gudesteo hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. In the 10th minute of the match, Severo Confesor tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ilixo Erce saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Braulio Gudesteo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 13 played minutes Romang got a freekick which was hit by Robustiano Kinsen. Independiente's Froilan Honrio got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Independiente's Ilixo Erce got control of the ball when Severino Vermudo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 18th match minute, Independiente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilberto Gaueko to maneuver through the defense. Severino Vermudo's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 19thth minute, Ilixo Erce skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 22 played minutes Severo Confesor rounded Independiente's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. If Braulio Gudesteo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 41 played minutes Independiente got a freekick which was hit by Gilberto Gaueko. Braulio Gudesteo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Severo Confesor made a kick off. Severino Vermudo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Ilixo Erce tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Independiente's zone, Severino Vermudo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ilixo Erce came out of the goal and Severino Vermudo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 65th match minute, Independiente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teodosio Lucila to maneuver through the defense. Severo Confesor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ilixo Erce having to interfere. Gilberto Gaueko kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. When Severo Confesor came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Romang fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Severo Confesor couldn't finish the play. Ilixo Erce took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Severo Confesor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Guillermo Muc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Carolo Bertol tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Severo Confesor managed to get in a good position for a shot. Romang's supporters rose to their feet, but Severo Confesor was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ilixo Erce breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ilixo Erce showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Severo Confesor, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Romang's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
