Santiago Cordeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Adan Mendez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silvio Atarratze in the 15th minute of play forced Ayapaso's goalkeeper Adan Mendez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 15th minute, Anselmo Dubardo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adan Mendez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Silvio Atarratze went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Santiago Cordeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Silvio Atarratze's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Adan Mendez was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. Silvio Atarratze might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adan Mendez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Silvio Atarratze ran back to his position shaking his head. Adan Mendez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Santiago Cordeiro in the 31st minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Orlando Quico kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ruperto Felipillo. That made the score 1-1 in the 33 minute of play. In the 37th match minute, Mariño AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oscar Lucado to maneuver through the defense. In the 44th minute Silvio Atarratze shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adan Mendez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Santiago Cordeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Orlando Quico made a kick off. When Tomás Pello came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Ayapaso fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomás Pello couldn't finish the play. Mariño AFC's Ruperto Felipillo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orlando Quico in the 53rd minute of play. Anselmo Dubardo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 56th minute, Orlando Quico got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Tomás Pello came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Ayapaso fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomás Pello couldn't finish the play. Silvio Atarratze fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adan Mendez having to interfere. Mariño AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Santiago Cordeiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 95th minute by Silvio Atarratze got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Ayapaso's defense didn't have a chance, in the 95th minute, when Santiago Cordeiro scored to the left of an out of position Adan Mendez, making the score, 3-2. Mariño AFC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
