But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rafael Uzuri couldn't finish the play. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ben Hur's goalkeeper Constantino Balasi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Eriberto Asur sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Constantino Balasi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eriberto Asur, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Grünbein FC's Victoriano Pueblo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquin Valery in the 26th minute of play. If Gerardo Mel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 39 minutes into the match, Ben Hur's Joaquin Valery sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Victoriano Pueblo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 42nd minute of the match, Joaquin Valery tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Victoriano Pueblo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joaquin Valery to strike the kick off in the second half. Ben Hur's Joaquin Valery got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Grünbein FC booed when Ben Hur was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerardo Mel didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 67th minute Eriberto Asur shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Constantino Balasi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 68th minute, Rafael Uzuri made a precise shot to the right of Constantino Balasi. Ben Hur's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Ben Hur's Pedro Erlantz couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 75th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Grünbein FC. Joaquin Valery fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victoriano Pueblo having to interfere. Ben Hur's Gervasio Porfirio got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Gervasio Porfirio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Grünbein FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Grünbein FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
