Anibal Sol started the match with the kick off. Juan Oskarbi took the ball and in the 8 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Godofredo Maldonado. Godofredo Maldonado dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 12th minute, one of Chacarita:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Chacarita. 20 minutes into the game, Aureliano Jax was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Strobel FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chacarita the free kick. After 20 played minutes Strobel FC got a freekick which was hit by Aureliano Jax. Godofredo Maldonado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan Oskarbi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anibal Sol received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Leonel Castulo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 33rd minute Oscar Refugio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonel Castulo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 36th minute, Iker Hever got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 44th minute, Oscar Refugio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Godofredo Maldonado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Natalio Tolino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Juan Oskarbi was the one to do the kick off. Godofredo Maldonado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aureliano Jax, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Godofredo Maldonado made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristo Harri in the 59th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Strobel FC's zone, Benedicto Eate stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leonel Castulo came out of the goal and Benedicto Eate tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benedicto Eate in the 64th minute of play forced Strobel FC's goalkeeper Leonel Castulo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benedicto Eate struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Leonel Castulo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chacarita. In the 72nd minute, Blas Elivareo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 74th minute Juan Oskarbi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Godofredo Maldonado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 88 minutes into the game, Iker Hever was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chacarita's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Strobel FC the free kick. In the 88th match minute, Chacarita was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iker Hever to maneuver through the defense. The referee felt a red card was in order, 94 minutes into the game, when Jose Sandaili put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Chacarita fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 93rd minute. Penalty! The Strobel FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Strobel FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
