The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Ezpeleta FC. If Felipe Gonchan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 9th minute Eusebio Erlantz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonardo Maju saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of DEPORTIVO MERLO 2 booed when Ezpeleta FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Siro Savier didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eusebio Erlantz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonardo Maju having to interfere. Astor Rico sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 0-1 became the score in the 28th minute when David Galtero elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 35th minute Eusebio Erlantz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonardo Maju saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Amado Tibalt kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felipe Gonchan got free with Leonardo Maju in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 45 minutes into the match, Ezpeleta FC's David Galtero sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aldo Egoi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. David Galtero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Aldo Egoi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eusebio Erlantz to strike the kick off in the second half. Felipe Gonchan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Leonardo Maju having to make a save. When Felipe Gonchan came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the DEPORTIVO MERLO 2 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felipe Gonchan couldn't finish the play. After 85 played minutes Ezpeleta FC got a freekick which was hit by Siro Savier. Leonardo Maju stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Felipe Gonchan's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. Aldo Egoi made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Astor Rico sent off a good shot on target. Eusebio Erlantz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Leonardo Maju tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Ezpeleta FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ezpeleta FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
