Camilo Enmanuel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Remigio Weterio got free in front of the goal in the 35th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Epifanio Belmiro was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Remigio Weterio in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Epifanio Belmiro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Abelardo Ostadar charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Abelardo Ostadar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of La Pirincha booed when Los Mismos de Siempre was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abelardo Ostadar didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, La Pirincha's Ariel Cedro got a free kick in the 37th minute. La Pirincha's Epifanio Belmiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teodosio Jerico in the 41st minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 84th minute, Marcelo Martxel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Teodosio Jerico fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Epifanio Belmiro having to interfere. When Teodosio Jerico came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Los Mismos de Siempre fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teodosio Jerico couldn't finish the play.
