But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pascual Calvino couldn't finish the play. If Feliciano Costante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pascual Calvino who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 14thth minute tested the skills of Melquiades Telesforo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 19 minutes into the match, Godofredo Gamus had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Clemente Porfiro. Rustico FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Godofredo Gamus was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After 23 minutes of play, Rustico FC's Pascual Calvino made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Melquiades Telesforo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Feliciano Costante received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Melquiades Telesforo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Melquiades Telesforo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pascual Calvino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 37th play minutes Pascual Calvino shot 2-1, a short shot which went by Melquiades Telesforo and just under the crossbar into goal. Pascual Calvinos short, quick shot in the 41stth minute got Melquiades Telesforo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pascual Calvino in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Melquiades Telesforo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 66 minutes into the match, Tomas Ixidor had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Melquiades Telesforo. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 81st minute of the game. One of Rustico FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Fc varela:s goal. After having played for 86 minutes, Feliciano Costante managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rustico FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Feliciano Costante was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Tomas Ixidor managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rustico FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Ixidor was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Melquiades Telesforo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Geronimo Inguma fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick.
