After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Roberto Roland managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aquilesbeta's supporters rose to their feet, but Roberto Roland was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mario Erasto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Octavio George received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Florentino Eufemio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arnoldo Nahia came free with the goalkeeper in the 14th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Mario Erasto could save by the left post. Octavio George recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Roberto Roland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 22 minutes into the match, Lev Davidovich's goalkeeper Mario Erasto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arnoldo Nahia. With a little luck, Lev Davidovich's Mario Erasto got control of the ball when Arnoldo Nahia tried to sneak it across the goal line. Arsenio Playo was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 27th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Zeledon Millrick received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Florentino Eufemio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aquilesbeta's Florentino Eufemio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Octavio George in the 32nd minute of play. When Alfonso Beremundo fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Aquilesbeta's protests and gave Alfonso Beremundo a yellow card for diving instead. Alfonso Beremundo hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. In the 35th minute of the match Arsenio Playo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Florentino Eufemio showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Aquilesbeta's Florentino Eufemio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albino Lluques in the 37th minute of play. Mario Erasto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arnoldo Nahia in the 44th minute. Roberto Roland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mario Erasto having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Octavio George to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Aquilesbeta's Samuel Paez got a free kick in the 52nd minute. It was beautiful to see Lev Davidovich's Arsenio Playo in action when he in the 54th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Arnoldo Nahia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mario Erasto having to interfere. Lev Davidovich's Mario Erasto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roberto Roland in the 66th minute of play. In the 68th minute Roberto Roland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mario Erasto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Aquilesbeta's Florentino Eufemio got control of the ball when Zeledon Millrick tried to sneak it across the goal line. 75 minutes into the match, Aquilesbeta's goalkeeper Florentino Eufemio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zeledon Millrick. The attack was good, but when Octavio George in the 77th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Octavio George in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Florentino Eufemio saved Aquilesbeta from getting behind. Aquilesbeta's Arnoldo Nahia got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Lev Davidovich's zone, Sergio Presebal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mario Erasto came out of the goal and Sergio Presebal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 87 minutes, Octavio George managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lev Davidovich's supporters crossed their fingers, but Octavio George was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Aquilesbeta's zone, Octavio George stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Florentino Eufemio came out of the goal and Octavio George tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Octavio George sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
