The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cosme Reyes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elpidio Marques in the 10th minute of play. In the 17th minute of the match, Hugo Gilen got a very nice opportunity to score, but Cosme Reyes was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Hugo Gilen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cosme Reyes having to interfere. After 35 played minutes, Milagro's Luis Patxi shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cosme Reyes came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Milagro reached it. After 36 minutes, Segundo Hunfredo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gimnasia y Esgrima.Lp and the Milagro players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Gimnasia y Esgrima.Lp getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Segundo Hunfredo hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Gimnasia y Esgrima.Lp's zone, Elpidio Marques stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cosme Reyes came out of the goal and Elpidio Marques tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 39 played minutes Gimnasia y Esgrima.Lp got a freekick which was hit by Placido Lohitzun. If Paulino Beltza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gaspar Eduino to make the kick off. Milagro's supporters rose to their feet, but Hugo Gilen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cosme Reyes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gaspar Eduino struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Genaro Roderigo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gimnasia y Esgrima.Lp. Paulino Beltza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Milagro's Benjamin Mino got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Gaspar Eduino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Genaro Roderigo having to interfere. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Gimnasia y Esgrima.Lp's Gaspar Eduino in the 81st minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Genaro Roderigo was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Milagro through an amazing save. Hugo Gilen might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cosme Reyes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hugo Gilen ran back to his position shaking his head. Inocencio Fanuco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Milagro getting a freekick after 89 minutes play.
