The supporters of Aldosivi booed when Ascensión was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raul Cordara didn't get a good kick on the ball. Prudencio Abella received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Edgardo Lopez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eriberto Fortun's late challenge caught a Aldosivi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eriberto Fortun helped the player get up and apologised. In the 28th match minute, Ascensión was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eriberto Fortun to maneuver through the defense. Aquiles Justin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Prudencio Abella blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Edgardo Lopez having to make a save. Edgardo Lopez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eriberto Laurin in the 34th minute of play. 43 minutes into the match, Ascensión's goal looked a bit too open when Aquiles Justin came free, but Andres Pio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Prudencio Abella had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 48 minutes into the match, Prudencio Abella had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edgardo Lopez. Aldosivi's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Prudencio Abella was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Aquiles Justin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Urbano Isadore during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 61 played minutes Aldosivi got a freekick which was hit by Urbano Isadore. After 63 minutes of play, Ascensión's Prudencio Abella made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edgardo Lopez was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 67th minute, Prudencio Abella got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 70 played minutes Ascensión got a freekick which was hit by Prudencio Abella. After a rather tough play, Aldosivi's Hugo Constancio got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Edgardo Lopez made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Prudencio Abella sent off a good shot on target. Prudencio Abellas short, quick shot in the 77thth minute got Edgardo Lopez to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Isaac Montez fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Aldosivi's protests and gave Isaac Montez a yellow card for diving instead. After 80 minutes of play Aldosivi's Urbano Isadore was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to Aldosivi getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Urbano Isadore hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Aldosivi defense, Prudencio Abella kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edgardo Lopez. The Aldosivi fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edgardo Lopez should have stopped the shot. In the 89th minute, Prudencio Abella left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ascensión fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Arnoldo Tristan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andres Pio having to interfere.
