The audience was convinced that Julio Maurin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Iker Ordono was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. Derqui FC's Astor Birjaio got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Julio Maurin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Julio Maurin came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Reta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Julio Maurin couldn't finish the play. After having played for 32 minutes, Damaso Gaitano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Reta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Damaso Gaitano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Reta's Alejo Ugaitz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Reta from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aquilino Galeno in the 37th minute of play forced Reta's goalkeeper Alejo Ugaitz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alejo Ugaitz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aquilino Galeno, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. When Aquilino Galeno came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Derqui FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aquilino Galeno couldn't finish the play. In the 44th minute of the match, Astor Birjaio got a very nice opportunity to score, but Alejo Ugaitz was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The supporters of Reta booed when Derqui FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicasio Shepherd didn't get a good kick on the ball. Derqui FC's Iker Ordono played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damaso Gaitano in the 59th minute of play. Damaso Gaitano struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Iker Ordono didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Reta. Damaso Gaitano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Damaso Gaitano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Maurin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iker Ordono having to interfere. Iker Ordono made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Julio Maurin sent off a good shot on target. Camilo Mino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aquilino Galeno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match clock showed 90 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Ivan Heli sped through Reta's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Alejo Ugaitz. Derqui FC's Astor Birjaio got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Aquilino Galeno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alejo Ugaitz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aquilino Galeno in the 98th minute of the match. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
