Diego Gonza didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Samuel Eguntsenti went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Delmiro Bibiano who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 43rdth minute tested the skills of Urbano Hernando when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in ddx's zone, Gavino Batista stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diego Gonza came out of the goal and Gavino Batista tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alvaro Chano to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alvaro Chano in the 52nd minute of play forced ddx's goalkeeper Diego Gonza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gavino Urbasa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Urbano Hernando having to interfere. Urbano Hernando made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Delmiro Bibiano in the 60th minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 65th minute by Alvaro Chano got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The supporters of ddx booed when Sunchu AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gavino Batista didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Gavino Urbasa came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the ddx fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gavino Urbasa couldn't finish the play. Gavino Urbasa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Sunchu AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Sunchu AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
