Ambrosio Abella made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacinto Lartaun in the 10th minute of play. Bernabe Montae could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Ambrosio Abella made a huge save. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind El Diablo Rojo's goalkeeper Ambrosio Abella, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 16 minutes into the match, El Diablo Rojo's goal looked a bit too open when Jacinto Lartaun came free, but Ambrosio Abella reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ambrosio Abella made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Bernabe Montae sent off a good shot on target. If Bernabe Montae had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bernabe Montae received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Ambrosio Abella tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 25 minutes into the match, Fecha Libre's Bernabe Montae sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ambrosio Abella narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 27th minute of the match Fecha Libre got a corner. El Diablo Rojo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Filiberto Cortez ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Fecha Libre's Filiberto Cortez to fire away a dangerous shot which Ambrosio Abella despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Fabian Veremundo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Venancio Lixandro, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. If Venancio Lixandro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Bernabe Montae's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ambrosio Abella was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. A collision led to Fecha Libre getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Martin Mero hit a great ball. In the 41st minute of the match Carolo Frutos shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fabian Veremundo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Fabian Veremundo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Angelino Nesto went, in the 48th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The Fecha Libre players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. El Diablo Rojo were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Angelino Nesto made a kick off. In the 56th minute Bernabe Montae shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ambrosio Abella saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Venancio Lixandro came free with the goalkeeper in the 58th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Fabian Veremundo could save by the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Bernabe Montae managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fecha Libre's supporters rose to their feet, but Bernabe Montae was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ambrosio Abella breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Fecha Libre fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 61st minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Fabian Veremundo, was totally fooled by El Diablo Rojo's Carolo Frutos, who 63 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 71st minute Jacinto Lartaun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ambrosio Abella saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sixto Abeita hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Venancio Lixandro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Fabian Veremundo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 95 minutes into the game, Venancio Lixandro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Fabian Veremundo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. El Diablo Rojo's Ambrosio Abella played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacinto Lartaun in the 101st minute of play. The El Diablo Rojo supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing El Diablo Rojo would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
