Leonel Aires charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leonel Aires the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 18th minute of the match Atilano Vincent sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Freddy Marino skillfully saved the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo Normando couldn't finish the play. After 46 minutes of play Patricios's Leonel Aires was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 47 played minutes Patricios got a freekick which was hit by Leonel Aires. After the first half Riverplay FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Domingos Rafe to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Paulo Normando left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Patricios fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Celedonio Oliviero missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 61 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Alfonso Jaume right hand side. 70 minutes into the match, Patricios's goalkeeper Freddy Marino had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jose Pietro. When Ismael Iraunkor fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Patricios's protests and gave Ismael Iraunkor a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Riverplay FC booed when Patricios was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ismael Iraunkor didn't get a good kick on the ball. Freddy Marino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Domingos Rafe in the 76th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Domingos Rafe in the 80th minute of play forced Patricios's goalkeeper Freddy Marino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 82nd minute, Abelardo Quinteros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Paulo Normando fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfonso Jaume having to interfere. Paulo Normando sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 98 minutes, Domingos Rafe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Riverplay FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Domingos Rafe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
