Leonardo Telo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Honorato Vellito in the 7th minute of the match. Nestor Corderall received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Alfonso Jaume tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Isaias Truylos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Domingos Rafe in the 24th minute of play forced Southern Oilers Athletic's goalkeeper Leonardo Telo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 26th minute, Domingos Rafe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eloy Pacorro charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eloy Pacorro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Eloy Pacorro hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Jose Pietro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonardo Telo having to interfere. In the 43rd minute of the match, Isaias Truylos got a very nice opportunity to score, but Alfonso Jaume was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After 45 minutes, Anier Cordeara mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Riverplay FC and the Southern Oilers Athletic players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Southern Oilers Athletic booed when Riverplay FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anier Cordeara didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 53 played minutes Southern Oilers Athletic got a freekick which was hit by Augusto Jerardo. Atilano Vincent, 54 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 58 minutes into the game, Norberto Torres was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Riverplay FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Southern Oilers Athletic the free kick. After a rather tough play, Riverplay FC's Norberto Torres got a free kick in the 59th minute. In the 60th minute Isaias Truylos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfonso Jaume saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leonardo Telo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Domingos Rafe in the 70th minute of play. After 71 played minutes Southern Oilers Athletic got a freekick which was hit by Augusto Jerardo. After having played for 74 minutes, Isaias Truylos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Southern Oilers Athletic's supporters crossed their fingers, but Isaias Truylos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 77 minutes, Leonardo Telo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 78 minutes of play, Riverplay FC's Jose Pietro made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Leonardo Telo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Isaias Truylos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Riverplay FC's zone, Nestor Corderall stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfonso Jaume came out of the goal and Nestor Corderall tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Amado Truylos fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Riverplay FC's protests and gave Amado Truylos a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Southern Oilers Athletic booed when Riverplay FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amado Truylos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Isaias Truylos in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alfonso Jaume prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Southern Oilers Athletic manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Riverplay FC to win.
