The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute, Bartolo Eriz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ramon Gonsalve hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. 14 minutes into the match, Club Progreso Argentino's goal looked a bit too open when Placido Cuartio came free, but Domingo Demario reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 15th minute, Remigio Marz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 17th minute, Placido Cuartio fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Domingo Demario, passed just outside the right post. Domingo Demario showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Placido Cuartio, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. 33 minutes into the game, Candido Tomi recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Domingo Demario. Candido Tomi showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Manuel Unai might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Domingo Demario. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Manuel Unai ran back to his position shaking his head. Domingo Demario took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Placido Cuartio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Amador Gaur missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 41 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Antonio Ledesma right hand side. Remigio Marz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antonio Ledesma having to interfere. A collision led to Estrella Roja getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Placido Cuartio hit a great ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Placido Cuartio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Estrella Roja's Bartolo Eriz got a free kick in the 51st minute. Candido Tomi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Domingo Demario having to interfere. Domingo Demario didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Placido Cuartio went, in the 63rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Estrella Roja's Candido Tomi got a free kick in the 67th minute. Manuel Unai scored 3-0 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Domingo Demario, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Domingo Demario showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manuel Unai, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Remigio Marz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Antonio Ledesma tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carolo Mancio struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Antonio Ledesma didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Progreso Argentino. After 89 played minutes Amador Gaur rounded Estrella Roja's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 3-2. Placido Cuartio struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Domingo Demario didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Estrella Roja. Estrella Roja were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Club Progreso Argentino for a fine match.
