The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Candido Tomi got free with Lisandro Otsando in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 4 played minutes Tortugas FC got a freekick which was hit by Justo Gabino. In the 8th play minute Manuel Unai came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Lisandro Otsando. 1-0. Antonio Ledesma came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Tortugas FC's Aquilino Ibon. But to his dismay, Aquilino Ibon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Elvio Chap struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Antonio Ledesma didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tortugas FC. The supporters of Estrella Roja booed when Tortugas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leon Cayo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Estrella Roja's goalkeeper Antonio Ledesma, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 26th minute, Benjamin Felo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 27 minutes into the match, Estrella Roja's Cristian Balendin shot a high long ball. Tortugas FC's goalkeeper was lucky when the ball hit the right post and out. 39 minutes into the match, Tortugas FC's goal looked a bit too open when Placido Cuartio came free, but Lisandro Otsando reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Placido Cuartio struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Lisandro Otsando didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Estrella Roja. Benjamin Felo hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Placido Cuartio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lisandro Otsando read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aquilino Ibon to make the kick off. Candido Tomi charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Candido Tomi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 52nd match minute, Estrella Roja was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Candido Tomi to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Estrella Roja getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Ramon Gonsalve hit a great ball. With his leg Antonio Ledesma managed to avoid a goal in the 60thth minute, when Tortugas FC's Elvio Chap fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Placido Cuartio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Lisandro Otsando tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 65 played minutes Tortugas FC got a freekick which was hit by Justo Gabino. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tortugas FC's goalkeeper Lisandro Otsando, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 72 played minutes Tortugas FC's Elvio Chap stole the ball from his opponents and shot the ball towards the upper left corner, but Antonio Ledesma stretched himself as far as he could, and stopped the ball from passing the line. robbing Estrella Roja of the goal. Estrella Roja's supporters rose to their feet, but Placido Cuartio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lisandro Otsando breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Manuel Unai received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Lisandro Otsando tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Aquilino Ibon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedro Jakes kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
