The referee ignored Tecka FC's protests and gave Hernan Huly a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of San Nicolás de los Arroyo booed when Tecka FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hernan Huly didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 29th minute, Tiburcio Franco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Tecka FC's Angel Iaki got a free kick in the 29th minute. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tecka FC's goalkeeper Primitivo Ipar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Tiburcio Franco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tiburcio Franco made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiburcio Franco in the 55th minute of play forced Tecka FC's goalkeeper Primitivo Ipar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 57 minutes into the match, San Nicolás de los Arroyo's goal looked a bit too open when Alejo Francis came free, but Mario Alberto Kempes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nicasio Torres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nicasio Torres dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Nicasio Torres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Primitivo Ipar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
