Mario Alberto Kempes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ildefonso Bernad, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. In the 12th minute, Efrain Pirro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tiburcio Franco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Alvaro Colas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiburcio Franco in the 18th minute of play forced La Pandilla F C's goalkeeper Alvaro Colas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 19 minutes had been played when some careless play by La Pandilla F C's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Alketas Anagnostopoulos was slow to take the kick. During this time San Nicolás de los Arroyo's players had a chance to rest. A very nice done corner allowed Efrain Pirro to score against Alvaro Colas in La Pandilla F C's goal. 2-0 after 20 minutes. A collision led to La Pandilla F C getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Ciriaco Ricart hit a great ball. Alvaro Colas made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Nicasio Torres sent off a good shot on target. Tiburcio Franco might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alvaro Colas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tiburcio Franco ran back to his position shaking his head. Tiburcio Franco's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alvaro Colas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. Tiburcio Franco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Irinel Butuc during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Irinel Butuc kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. With a little luck, La Pandilla F C's Alvaro Colas got control of the ball when Nicasio Torres tried to sneak it across the goal line. 42 minutes into the game, Nicasio Torres cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind La Pandilla F C's goalkeeper Alvaro Colas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alvaro Colas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nicasio Torres's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. If Nicasio Torres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Tiburcio Franco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alvaro Colas was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. Alvaro Colas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tiburcio Franco, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute.
