The referee ignored Arauco FC's protests and gave Honorio Ihazintu a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Arauco FC getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Honorio Ihazintu hit a great ball. San Nicolás de los Arroyo's Tiburcio Franco got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With his leg Mauro Domenec managed to avoid a goal in the 16thth minute, when San Nicolás de los Arroyo's Nicasio Torres fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a defensive mix-up in Arauco FC's zone, Tiburcio Franco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicasio Torres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Mauro Domenec tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nicasio Torres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mauro Domenec having to interfere. San Nicolás de los Arroyo's Tiburcio Franco got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Honorio Ihazintu made a kick off. Mauro Domenec showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicasio Torres, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Róbert Olarte's late challenge caught a Arauco FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Róbert Olarte helped the player get up and apologised. Róbert Olarte hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. San Nicolás de los Arroyo fully deserved thier win.
