Joel Igon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baldomero Baladi, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. 11 minutes into the match, Tío Sam's goal looked a bit too open when Baldomero Baladi came free, but Joel Igon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anier Viviano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Joel Igon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With 18 minutes on the clock, Cipriano Sanduru commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 17 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Tío Sam! After 24 played minutes Don Ramon FC's Ruperto Escobar stole the ball from his opponents and shot the ball towards the upper left corner, but Joel Igon stretched himself as far as he could, and stopped the ball from passing the line. robbing Tío Sam of the goal. If Marciano Nevada had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Baldomero Baladi to strike the kick off in the second half. Joel Igon came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Don Ramon FC's Ruperto Escobar. But to his dismay, Ruperto Escobar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Joel Igon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baldomero Baladi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Baldomero Baladi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tío Sam's Cícero Carioca got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 67th minute Baldomero Baladi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel Igon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Amadeo Saturnin charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Amadeo Saturnin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 69 played minutes Tío Sam got a freekick which was hit by Amadeo Saturnin. The supporters of Don Ramon FC booed when Tío Sam was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Omar Avellaneda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tío Sam's Joel Igon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ruperto Escobar in the 75th minute of play. When Raul Ferran fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Don Ramon FC's protests and gave Raul Ferran a yellow card for diving instead. In the 77th match minute, Don Ramon FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raul Ferran to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cícero Carioca got free with Abelardo Montel in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Amadeo Saturnin kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Abelardo Montel. That made the score 1-1 in the 88 minute of play. Abelardo Montel was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Clemente Sasoin showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 92 minute of play. The Don Ramon FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Tío Sam's performance. The match ended with a win for Tío Sam.
