After some careless play in the Gezte defense, Israel Menendo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cipriano Asteri. The Gezte fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cipriano Asteri should have stopped the shot. Teobaldo Dino's late challenge caught a C.A River Plate's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Teobaldo Dino helped the player get up and apologised. After 27 played minutes Gezte got a freekick which was hit by Teobaldo Dino. If Israel Menendo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teobaldo Dino hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. In the 30thth minute of the game Aristides Michael who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gezte's Cipriano Asteri was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 32nd minute, Aureliano Bernabel fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. C.A River Plate's Arsenio Sesuldo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save C.A River Plate from getting a goal against them. 40 minutes into the match, Gezte's goal looked a bit too open when Israel Menendo came free, but Cipriano Asteri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aristides Michael struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Cipriano Asteri didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C.A River Plate. The supporters of Gezte booed when C.A River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anier Pietro didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Hipolito Gonza came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Gezte fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hipolito Gonza couldn't finish the play.
