The referee ignored Newells's protests and gave Nicasio Poncio a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of La Tetera booed when Newells was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicasio Poncio didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 16 played minutes Newells got a freekick which was hit by Bonifacio Geofredo. Miguel Medero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artemio Sadurni having to interfere. Everardo Chabier's late challenge caught a Newells's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Everardo Chabier helped the player get up and apologised. Artemio Sadurni didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Newells's Bonifacio Geofredo shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-1 in the ordered_time% minute. If Gustavo Ralondo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Miguel Medero kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Artemio Sadurni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bonifacio Geofredo in the 63rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicanor Lertxun in the 66th minute of play forced Newells's goalkeeper Camilo Thomas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. La Tetera's Gustavo Ralondo got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nicanor Lertxun recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 84 minutes into the game, Bonifacio Geofredo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Artemio Sadurni. Bonifacio Geofredo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. If Nicanor Lertxun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 93rd minute Everardo Chabier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Camilo Thomas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nicanor Lertxun took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Camilo Thomas. Camilo Thomas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2.
