In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Encrucijadas's goalkeeper Ceferino Weather, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Osvaldo Tome fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ceferino Weather having to interfere. After 44 minutes, Gogo Lauro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mate Galleta and the Encrucijadas players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Mate Galleta's Gogo Lauro got a free kick in the 44th minute. 48 minutes into the match, Encrucijadas's Mateo Maiorga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benedicto Basajaun narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mateo Maiorga to make the kick off. Benedicto Basajaun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mateo Maiorga, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Encrucijadas's Fabricio Lon got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Benedicto Basajaun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mateo Maiorga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mate Galleta's Benedicto Basajaun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mateo Maiorga in the 90th minute of play. Fabricio Lon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Benedicto Basajaun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 96 minutes into the match, Mateo Maiorga notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Mate Galleta's Benedicto Basajaun. Benedicto Basajaun was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mate Galleta succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Encrucijadas had controlled the match.
