In the 5thth minute of the game Gervasio Romildo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Unión Oncativo's Luis Naike was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Pelayo's attentive Carlos Bide managed to snatch the ball when Niceto Unax made a throw-in in the 9th minute of the game. In the 10th minute, Gervasio Romildo made a precise shot to the right of Luis Naike. Unión Oncativo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. If Mateo Marino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Candido Porfiro fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pelayo's protests and gave Candido Porfiro a yellow card for diving instead. Candido Porfiro kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Silverio Endira kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tomás Quintana. That made the score 1-1 in the 17 minute of play. If Silverio Endira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomás Quintana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silverio Endira in the 21st minute of play. If Mateo Marino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Silverio Endira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Candido Porfiro hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. After 39 minutes of play, Pelayo's Gervasio Romildo made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luis Naike was left in no man's land by his defense there! Tomás Quintana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silverio Endira, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. After the first half Pelayo were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gervasio Romildo to strike the kick off in the second half. Unión Oncativo's Luis Naike proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Unión Oncativo from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Unión Oncativo's zone, Gervasio Romildo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luis Naike came out of the goal and Gervasio Romildo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Carlos Bide's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luis Naike read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Pelayo's zone, Mateo Marino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomás Quintana came out of the goal and Mateo Marino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gervasio Romildo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luis Naike having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Unión Oncativo's zone, Gervasio Romildo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luis Naike came out of the goal and Gervasio Romildo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gervasio Romildo kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Silverio Endira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Tomás Quintana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dionisio Ebardo charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dionisio Ebardo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 85th minute, one of Pelayo:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Pelayo. Ceferino Lazcano's late challenge caught a Pelayo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ceferino Lazcano helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Unión Oncativo getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Ceferino Lazcano hit a great ball. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
