After 7 minutes of play, Cangrejilla FC's Filiberto Criston made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hernan Socorro was left in no man's land by his defense there! 1-1 became the score in the 11th minute when Guido Aznar elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Santas Las Brasas FC's Hernan Socorro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudio Garaona in the 19th minute of play. Fernando Geofredo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rigoberto Atauri in the 29th minute of play. 34 minutes into the match, Santas Las Brasas FC's Baldomiro Rudolfo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fernando Geofredo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Guido Aznar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Geofredo having to interfere. Hernan Socorro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudio Garaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. 42 minutes into the match, Cangrejilla FC's goal looked a bit too open when Guido Aznar came free, but Fernando Geofredo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Guido Aznar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Geofredo having to interfere. Fernando Geofredo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rigoberto Atauri in the 46th minute of play. After 46 minutes, Agustin Gaxan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cangrejilla FC and the Santas Las Brasas FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Cangrejilla FC's Agustin Gaxan got a free kick in the 47th minute. A nice corner shot did that Simon Sotil got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Fernando Geofredo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rigoberto Atauri made a kick off. In the 54th play minute Guido Aznar came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Fernando Geofredo. 1-2. Hernan Socorro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Filiberto Criston went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Santas Las Brasas FC's zone, Filiberto Criston stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hernan Socorro came out of the goal and Filiberto Criston tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hernan Socorro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudio Garaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Guido Aznar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Fernando Geofredo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rigoberto Atauri's late challenge caught a Cangrejilla FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rigoberto Atauri helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Cangrejilla FC booed when Santas Las Brasas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rigoberto Atauri didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hernan Socorro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Claudio Garaona's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. 80 minutes in the game, Rigoberto Atauri fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Fernando Geofredo having to interfere. Fernando Geofredo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rigoberto Atauri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rigoberto Atauri in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fernando Geofredo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Santas Las Brasas FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Santas Las Brasas FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
