Sunampa's defense didn't have a chance, in the 12th minute, when Florencio Ilazki scored to the left of an out of position Uriel Vedillo, making the score, 1-0. German Ospin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ovidio Mark in the 22nd minute of the match. With a little luck, Sunampa's Uriel Vedillo got control of the ball when Saturnino Cai tried to sneak it across the goal line. Saturnino Cai could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Uriel Vedillo made a huge save. After some careless play in the Sunampa defense, Cristo Llorenc kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Uriel Vedillo. The Sunampa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Uriel Vedillo should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Saturnino Cai got free with Uriel Vedillo in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Sunampa booed when Atletico Madariaga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arnaldo Aguilera didn't get a good kick on the ball. German Ospin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ovidio Mark in the 36th minute of play. But to his dismay, Ovidio Mark quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Severo Miliano was the one to do the kick off. Uriel Vedillo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albano Maldonado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 55th minute, Sunampa's Ovidio Mark dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2. Arnaldo Aguilera's late challenge caught a Sunampa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lino Rolado charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lino Rolado the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Atletico Madariaga's Lino Rolado got a free kick in the 77th minute. With an all-out effort, Sunampa's German Ospin threw himself towards the right post 80 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ovidio Mark, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Fausto Celino struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. German Ospin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sunampa.
